Our Story

In 2003, Steve & Kate Gamble looked into the eyes of the sick and starving people of Senegal, Africa and knew they could never look away. One year later, Heartbeat International Ministries was born. Being given a second chance in their own lives decades before, Steve & Kate live to give back.

The goal of Heartbeat International Ministries (HIM) is to make a difference in the feeding, clothing, and medical treatment of the poor and hungry. Over the last 20+ years, Heartbeat International Ministries has achieved much and influenced many all over the world. They have fed over 180,000 people, administered both routine and critical medical & dental care, built 11 fresh-water wells, three schools, a women’s job training facility, and established and maintained three children’s homes, all throughout Senegal, Kenya, Zambia, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Tennessee, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, and New York City. Heartbeat has also been heavily involved in disaster relief in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, and Hurricane Florence.

Heartbeat International Ministries is a registered 501c3 organization and every penny donated goes directly to the needs.
