Dominican Republic & Haiti
Heartbeat International Ministries is committed to serving some of the most vulnerable families in the Dominican Republic and Haiti by meeting both practical and spiritual needs through food, education, and community care.
How it Began In 2015, Heartbeat took a team to the Dominican Republic to host daily medical clinics and a children’s camp filled with music, prizes, activities, and games. That trip opened the door to long-term ministry in the region and deepened our commitment to the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Building Partnership In 2019, we partnered with Working for Christ, a local ministry that provides hot meals, groceries, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene products to poor neighborhoods. Together, we also began visiting local prisons to deliver food and hygiene supplies to men and women often forgotten by society.
To date, this ministry has:
Distributed food to over 3,000 individuals
Provided school supplies to 250+ children
Supplied hygiene products to 800+ prisoners
Delivered 1,000+ boxes of clothing and household goods to families in need
Additionally, we constructed a school in Haiti to serve homeless “street kids.” These children now receive uniforms, school supplies, daily meals, and personalized after-school support—giving them both hope and opportunity for the future.
A Home for Outreach In 2022, Heartbeat completed construction of an outreach facility in Higuey, Dominican Republic, featuring a full kitchen, dining hall, classrooms, and a play area. This facility allows us to consistently serve the community on a larger scale.
Next door, we developed a chicken farm—providing food, income, and opportunities for local children to help care for the animals. This has strengthened both community involvement and sustainability.
Ongoing Impact From this outreach facility, we continue to provide hot meals, groceries, toys, clothing, household essentials, and backpacks filled with school supplies to families in need. Every distribution is an opportunity to show compassion and share God’s love with those who need it most.
