Michael Toman, Director
“Declare his glory among the nations…”
— Psalm 96:3
Mike has been involved in Friends in Bangladesh since 2009. He is a semi-retired senior executive from the insurance industry.
After leaving full time employment, Mike got the opportunity to travel to Bangladesh in 2009 to help coordinate a medical mission there. Seeing the concentration of poverty that exists there, he decided to concentrate his efforts towards helping the people of Bangladesh. Since then he has taken on the position of Director of Friends in Bangladesh and is now responsible for fundraising, promotion and oversight of this organization.
Friends of Bangladesh has been able to conduct multiple medical clinics, dig deep tube wells, provide sanitation facilities for many families, donate hundreds of bibles and blankets, purchase bicycles and motor scooters for traveling pastors, start the construction of a church and school, initiate a vitamin program focused on women, and begin funding a microloan program. All this has been accomplished while supporting 25 pastors on a monthly basis.
Mike earned his BA and MBA degrees from the University of Connecticut. He resides in Greenwich, CT with his wife. He has three daughters and five grandchildren.
